Norco residents ordered to shelter in place following gas line rupture

NORCO, Calif. (KNX) — The rupture of a natural gas line in Norco on Tuesday morning has forced residents of 10 homes to shelter in place while crews work to repair the leak.

The leak in the two-inch line was reported at around 9:30 a.m. in the 3500 block of Center Avenue, according to Riverside County fire officials. Deputies met with residents of impacted homes and instructed them to shelter in place.

Southern California Gas Company crews were on the scene as of shortly before noon to cap the leak. It was not immediately disclosed what caused the rapture to the line.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the leak.
