High winds and steady rain caused some flooding issues in Orange County, including a shutdown of Pacific Coast Highway from Warner to Seaward Ave.
One man said he barely got through that stretch before it was shut down as the water level reached 2ft in depth on the roadway.
KNX News' Pete Demetriou spoke with some homeowners in the area who said that while they managed to avoid any significant issues so far, they are wasting no time preparing for the next storm due to come in over the weekend.
While filling sandbags, one resident told Demetriou after seeing about 12 inches of rain accumulation around his home and three inches of standing water inside his garage, he plans to walk away from the filling station with 10-12 sandbags for what's to come.
When asked if he was worried about Sunday's reported storm, he said, "No, other than I know it's going to be possibly a little worse than now, and that's why I'm gearing up."

As is the case across Southern California, many fire stations have sand and sandbags available for people who want to prevent water from entering their homes.
If you do head to your local fire station, here is a bit of advice - bring someone to help fill and load the bags, and BRING YOUR OWN SHOVEL!
