An ad campaign by Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer wants to make it clear that thieves in the county will get prosecuted.
This campaign will be on buses, bumper stickers, billboards, and text messages. Spitzer said in a statement that robberies in Orange County are usually committed by people who don’t live there.
The DA’s new special prosecution unit has gone after 141 alleged robbers and burglars, one of whom was from OC, according to the district attorney’s office.
Spitzer said what led him to take this stance is smash and grabs, other high profile crimes, lowered sentencing, and convictions.
The ad campaign will last four weeks and will try to reach 38 million people.
