Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo told KNX News’ Elsa Ramon and Mike Simpson he feels the city is prepared for the storm.
“We feel very prepared in Pasadena. You know, this is so unprecedented that we've done all that we possibly can to prepare,” he said. “But we're still out there picking people up. We've got city buses. We've opened a shelter and we're asking people to shelter in place. So we're doing all that we can knowing that this is so unpredictable.”

He added that when it comes to the homeless, they’re working on getting them off the streets and into shelters.
“We’ve turned the community centers into shelters,” he said. “We've got city buses and all of our port teams that include firefighters and health care workers, going out, picking people up and bringing them to those shelters at the community centers.”
His biggest concern are trees falling and taking lines with them.
“We have the largest urban forest, in all of L A county, I believe, and, they're, they're old growth trees, oak trees and that have been here for, you know, 100 or so years or if not more,” he said. “And I'm concerned about those trees falling over, particularly on power lines causing fires.”
He urged residents to stay far away from powerlines and report any downed power lines.
