NEW YORK (KNX) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has tested negative for COVID-19 and will be "exiting isolation" on Tuesday, she said Monday, following last Thursday's announcement that she had tested positive for the virus.
"Today, happily I tested negative for COVID," Pelosi, 82, tweeted. "Tomorrow, I will be exiting isolation at the direction of the Capitol’s Attending Physician and consistent with CDC guidelines for asymptomatic individuals. Many thanks to everyone for their good wishes, chocolates and chicken soup."
Last Thursday, Pelosi deputy press secretary Drew Hammill said in a statement, "After testing negative this week, Speaker Pelosi received a positive test result for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic. The Speaker is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is thankful for the robust protection the vaccine has provided."
Hammill added, "The Speaker will quarantine consistent with CDC guidance, and encourages everyone to get vaccinated, boosted and test regularly."
