It’s not too late to get Christmas gifts.
KNX News' Mike Simpson and Chris Sedens spoke to Trae Bodge, a retail expert, about some last-minute gift ideas. Gift cards are a classic option, but Bodge advised shoppers to be careful because some people are tampering with them.
“Another thing that I love about gift cards is you can actually get them personalized now. There's a site called perfectgift.com where you can order a digital personalized gift card that can be emailed to your recipient,” Bodge said. “So you don't have to worry about shipping time and delays and anything like that.”
In terms of going to the store and finding a gift, she loves going to local stores, swap meets, and antique stores. However, Bodge said she’s excited about how bigger box stores are working with small brands. This way it’s easier to find unique and unusual things.
“Target is one of my favorites and they have a lot of great options based on what your schedule and availability is,” she said. “Obviously we're down to the wire. So if you're placing an order, you can have it delivered to you, same day shipped, or you can pick up in store. You can also drive up and a team member will bring it out to your trunk as you're running errands.”
There are also some deals that people can still take advantage of. Bodge said the most exciting deals are going to be on toys, video games, men’s and women’s apparel, and holiday pajamas.
Some other options are handmade gifts.
“If you’re handy or if you can bake, to make something for someone is really special, and then you can dress it up with some, say craft paper, and some twine and a really beautiful gift tag,” Bodge said.
This can make it a really heartfelt gift that barely costs any money.
