Student stabbed near Pico-Union high school; suspect sought

LOS ANGELES (CNS) — An 18-year-old student was stabbed Friday near West Adams Preparatory High School in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles.

The stabbing happened during a fight with the suspect in the area of West Washington Boulevard and South Vermont Avenue just after 3 p.m., according to the Los Angeles School Police Department.

The department said officers found the male victim suffering from at least one stab wound at the scene, and he was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

The stabbing suspect, who fled the scene before authorities arrived, was described only as a male, between the ages of 15 and 16 years old.
