An easy lay-up puzzle of "give yourself a round of applause" took a strange detour in the mind of contestant Will Jordan from Wethersfield, Conn., into the land of sausages.
How'd it happen? No one knows except Jordan himself. Applause, sausage, tomato, tomatho -- we've all been there. Either way, the guy was apparently hungry.
"Sometimes the pressure on live TV can make even the simplest answers seem impossible, but this one was a real head-scratcher," one user wrote on X.
Host Ryan Seacrest played it straight and kept moving, right to the next contestant, who solved the puzzle instantly. We may never know what made Jordan reach for the sausage.
But this is perhaps the best response on social media, "wurst answer ever," one bratwurst-loving Twitter user wrote. We can only wait and see if "treat yourself (to) a round of sausage" catches on.
