2 hospitalized in crash involving train in Pasadena

Two people were hospitalized following a collision involving a train in Pasadena Thursday.

It happened around 9:20 a.m. at the intersection of Raymond Avenue and California Boulevard, city officials said.

The driver, described as a woman in her 40’s, had to be extricated from her car by the fire department, Lisa Derderian, the city’s public information officer, told KNX News.

The woman was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. She was the only person in the car.

Derderian added that officials are working to get passengers off the train.

Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo told City News Service the train operator was also hospitalized, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Officials are urging drivers to avoid the area

The collision is under investigation.
