ST. LOUIS (KEZK) - The Missouri Department of Transportation recruited a hometown hero to help get out a message of safety during the coronavirus pandemic.
Former St. Louis Cardinals third baseman and 2011 World Series Champion David Freese recorded a video message telling all of Missouri he wants to "reiterate the importance of social distancing."
No decision has been made at the state level, but St. Louis County, the City of St. Louis and many other areas have decided to implement a stay-at-home order until at least April 22.
MoDOT shared the video of Freese on Twitter, Tuesday afternoon:
And you can take a listen to some old Freese heroics on KMOX, as we're replaying the Cardinals 2011 World Series Championship run. We're airing the last 50 games from the 2011 season, from Aug. 25 to Game 7 of the World Series.
