ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The food scene in St. Louis is a very competitive one and an award for best ice cream has just been handed out by Food & Wine. It's gone to the more-than-century-old shop in north St. Louis: Crown Candy.
According to the food and drink magazine, the pandemic brought on a "glorious ice cream boom." So they decided to find the best ice cream spot in all 50 states.
The 107-year-old candy shop, known for it's massive BLT sandwich and rich dessert floats was called a "treasure" of St. Louis.
"A Norman Rockwell-level bit of Americana and a quick trip away from modern day life to some kind of fantasy land where they're still mixing batches of ice cream in the antique copper kettle," wrote Food & Wine.
