As you might have heard or even seen if you were anywhere near Webster-Kirkwood-Brentwood over the weekend, there were numerous sightings of a young black bear just wondering around the area. Sightings were reported in Webster Groves, Kirkwood, Oakland, Glendale, Brentwood and Richmond Heights.
Better question might be who DIDN’T see a bear in St. Louis yesterday?
The jevenile bear was spotted in Brentwood yesterday near Hanley and Highway 64/40. Eventually, he was tranquilized in a tree and captured last night near the Clayton Rd. in Richmond Heights.
They were able to get the bear down and into a cage. He’ll be released far out into the country, conservation officials say.Better go pretty far!
They better take him pretty far out though because they say bears have a terrific memory. Let's be honest here--once you get a taste of the high life, what’s more inviting---being stuck in the middle of the forest or the Brentwood Promenade on a Saturday afternoon?
