Set to take place only a few days from now on September 13, the infamous New York City fashion event of the year is of course keeping a few traditions, however in this post pandemic world, also adapting with a few differences.

Remaining the same, as always the night will have a theme. Far different from 2019's “Camp”, this year’s Met Gala theme is "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” centering on American designers and fashion history.

For those unaware, besides being a monumental night for fashion, the Met Gala is first and foremost a fundraising gala benefiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. And marks the opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit.

This years exhibition will be split into two parts: Part One, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” debuting at the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021, and Part Two, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” which will open on May 5, 2022. Which is great and all, but not why we’re all here.

While the evening itself will be hosted by Anna Wintour and her personally handpicked co-chairs Timothée ChalametBillie EilishNaomi Osaka and Amanda Gorman, the event’s first ever official livestream is set to be hosted by Keke Palmer and Ilana Glazer

All thanks to American Vogue, “together, they will provide unprecedented access to the Met Gala’s famous red carpet, interviewing high-profile guests as they arrive in grand style.”

That’s right —so if, like most of us, your invite to this year's Gala got lost in the mail, once again - remain calm because like we said, you can stream it from the comfort of your own home. And all you'll need is an internet connection and you can tune in on Twitter or on the Vogue.com website for all the rumored exclusive, never-before-seen access beginning  at 5:30PM EST.

No doubt, as always media outlets will also likely be sharing live red carpet coverage across all social specifically for us common folk to obsess over.

Okay so now that you know how and when to tune in our job is done, so we’ll just be over here trying to figure out the guest list and daydreaming about amazing looks of past Met Gala’s while we wait for the second Monday in September to arrive.
