Thursday marked the beginning of Championship Week at the 85th National Baseball Congress World Series at Eck Stadium. The first four games of pool play wrapped up 12:39 a.m. on Friday.
Thursday's winners included the San Diego Waves, the Kansas Cannons, the Cheney Diamond Dawgs, and the Fairbanks Goldpanners.
The tournament continues on the Wichita State campus with more pool play this weekend; there will be four games on Friday, four on Saturday, and four more on Sunday.
