The Wichita Thunder hockey team opened a three-game homestand by defeating the top team in the ECHL Tuesday night downtown at Intrust Bank Arena; it was a 4-3 win in overtime for Wichita over the Allen Americans.
Wichita had a two-goal lead late in the game, but Allen tallied a pair of goals in the final eight minutes to tie it up.
The Thunder won the game with a goal less than two minutes into the extra period.
This is Wichita's third straight win on home ice, including two of them in overtime.
