He played for the Chiefs from 1967-1975, including a start at safety for KC in its Super Bowl IV victory against the Minnesota Vikings.

In 1972, Kearney tied the NFL record with four interceptions returned for touchdowns in one season.

Kearney tallied 23 interceptions in his professional career.

After his playing days, Kearney taught science for many years at Kansas City (KS) Washington high school.

*Happy 33rd birthday to former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston. The Chiefs drafted Houston out of Georgia in the 3rd Round of the 2011 NFL draft.

Houston played his first eight seasons in the league with the Chiefs, and he holds the NFL record with four career safties.

Houston currently plays for the Baltimore Ravens.
