Bronny James is showing that the apple does not fall far from the tree.
LeBron James’ eldest son was competing in the Club Basketball Euro Tour overseas for the California Basketball Club on Monday and the 17-year-old took a page out of his old man’s book.
With under two minutes left in the second quarter, Bronny dribbled the length of the court and powered straight to the hoop to thrown down an epic, posterizing dunk on his U18 French Select opponent.
The dunk fired up the entire crowd and teammates on his bench, but perhaps the one most impressed was his father, who was watching the game aired on ESPN and tweeted his reaction to the dunk.
Others on social media, including Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Crawford, saw the highlight and sang Bronny’s praises.
Bronny, listed as a 6-foot-3 point guard, is ranked as the No. 39 in ESPN’s high school basketball rankings for the Class of 2023 as he heads into his senior year. He’s received offers from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and USC but has not committed to a college yet.
In addition to Bronny, LeBron’s other son, Bryce, is also playing in the tournament alongside his older brother — marking the first time the two James kids are playing with each other.
