The Chiefs were hosting the red-hot Houston Texans on Sunday night at Arrowhead, looking to break a streak and keep their playoff hopes alive. And it was a defensive battle that Houston kept getting the better of.
Houston managed to hold KC scoreless in the first half, the best the Chiefs could manage was getting close enough to attempt a 43 yard field goal. But Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker missed and KC went to the locker room down 10-0
Things went better for the Chiefs in the 3rd, tying the game with a Kareem Hunt TD run and a field goal. But things turned back in Houston's favor in the 4th quarter. KC failed to convert on two 4th down attempts, and Mahomes' 3rd interception for the game cemented a 20-10 win for the Texans.
The loss doesn't entirely mathematically eliminate the Chiefs from making a postseason appearance, but the chances now are very slim. Next up for KC, a home matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.
