Caglianone’s career night powers Royals past Blue Jays 13-2

Jac Caglianone delivered the biggest game of his young career Thursday night, helping the Kansas City Royals cruise past the Toronto Blue Jays 13-2.

Caglianone went 5-for-6 with a home run, a double and a career-high six RBIs as the Royals collected 16 hits and scored in five different innings. His five hits tied a Royals record for a game, while his six RBIs marked a career best.

The Royals jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning after Carter Jensen opened the game with a home run. Caglianone added a two-run single in the second to extend Kansas City’s advantage to 4-0.

Kansas City broke the game open in the sixth, scoring six runs. Caglianone delivered another two-run single, while Vinnie Pasquantino capped the inning with a two-run homer.

Pasquantino finished with three RBIs, while Jensen also homered.

Noah Cameron earned the win, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings. George Springer’s two-run homer in the sixth ended Cameron’s streak of 19 consecutive scoreless innings.

Caglianone added his second homer of the night in the ninth inning, giving him 23 home runs this season.

The victory gave Kansas City its 10th win in its last 11 games and secured another series victory.
