The Steelers and Head Coach Mike Tomlin have agreed to a 3-year contract extension which will take Tomlin through 2027.
If he coaches through 2027, that will mark 21 years with the organization. He is the longest-tenured coach, with one team in the NFL. Along with Tomlin, only Bill Cowher and Chuck Noll have led the Steelers since 1969.
"Mike Tomlin's leadership and commitment to the Steelers have been pivotal to our success during his first 17 years as head coach," said Steelers President Art Rooney II via Steelers.com. "Extending his contract for three more years reflects our confidence in his ability to guide the team back to winning playoff games and championships, while continuing our tradition of success."
Tomlin is 173-100 as the Steelers Head Coach with a .633 winning percentage.
He coached the Steelers to a Super Bowl Championship in 2008 and an AFC Championship in 2010. In the postseason, Tomlin is 8-10 with a .444 winning percentage and has not won a playoff game since the 2016 season with against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Since then, the Steelers have lost four playoff games in a row, including last year’s 31-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
