Usually when people are talking gators in Florida, they are discussing the University of Florida’s football team. However, the most recent alligator story in the Sunshine state is focused around a different sport; soccer, and sadly this time it wasn’t about a team’s mascot. Video went viral recently of a pro soccer team’s practice being interrupted by a live alligator walking onto the field.

As seen in the now viral clip, players form the soccer team Toronto FC react as they spot a massive alligator wandering into their space. “All I can tell you is this -- there was an alligator, a massive alligator, and my players are running towards the alligator as I went the other way. Listen we talk about fearless and aggressive round here, but I thought we would not think about that at that moment,” said the team’s coach Chris Armas.

According to UPI, the team was in Orlando preparing for an upcoming game when the alligator interrupted practice. Luckily the alligator was eventually removed and no one was harmed. Sadly, the alligator’s soccer career didn’t get off to the start it expected.
