Wichita State has rewarded head men's basketball coach Paul Mills with a three-year contract extension that keeps him under contract through June 30, 2031, after leading the Shockers to a 24-win season and back-to-back postseason appearances.
Mills has compiled a 58-40 record in his first three seasons, the second-most wins by a Wichita State coach through three years, trailing only Eddie Fogler. The Shockers have improved their win total each season, going from 15 wins in 2023-24 to 19 in 2024-25 and 24 last season.
Last season, Wichita State finished second in the American Athletic Conference, reached the conference championship game for the first time since joining the league, and advanced to the NIT quarterfinals after hosting its first NIT game at Charles Koch Arena since 2011. The Shockers also return 10 players from last year's roster, providing optimism for another strong season.
