Wichita State senior center William Berg is giving back to the community by donating 10 season tickets for the 2026-27 men’s basketball season to the Wichita Children’s Home.
Berg, a 7-foot-2 center from Stockholm, Sweden, purchased the tickets so children at the organization can attend Shockers games and create lasting memories.
“I wanted to give back to the community and show my appreciation,” Berg said. “I know how hard it can be as a kid facing adversity and I want to help them any way I can. If I can give them a few memories that they’ll remember forever, that’s a win.”
Berg is entering his second season at Wichita State after earning American Conference Sixth Man of the Year honors as a junior.
The Wichita Children’s Home is part of a larger community ticket initiative that provided more than 450 women’s basketball tickets and more than 3,300 men’s basketball tickets to nonprofit organizations during the 2025-26 season. Several donors are returning for the 2026-27 season, with Star Lumber & Supply and another anonymous donor also joining the effort.
Berg said even a small contribution can make a difference for children facing difficult circumstances.
“It doesn’t require much to make a real lasting impact on these kids,” Berg said. “Big or small, all gestures help and I know the Wichita community has a lot of love to share as I have experienced it myself.”
