Lorde's personal trainer just shared the workout routine that led to those summer abs

The sun goddess performed live on Good Morning America to celebrate the arrival of her sunny new music, and with the gift of that performance also came the gift of the Kiwi singer’s impeccable abs.

Donning a vibrant yellow crop top and pant set, the “Royals” singer was luminous on stage and her sculpted torso shined as well.

Lorde’s trainer, Allison Kimmel, spoke with Women’s Health to share the gift of the New Zealander’s workout routine. Kimmel and Lorde have worked together since the making of her sophomore album, Melodrama, and during her European tour.

Kimmel shared, “Lorde’s concert tour was a total whirlwind. We didn’t always have the perfect schedule for training. If we had 30 minutes between things to squeeze in a workout or a stretch, we made it work. Other times, we had over an hour and could extend her warm-up or add some extra cardio sets."

The artist and her trainer typically worked out for around an hour four to five times a week. Kimmel divulges, “I would start with a 15-minute jog or other cardio followed by an uptempo yoga-inspired warm-up. After that, we would get into our main sets which were comprised of traditional strength exercises, combined with barre and Pilates."

For example, the trainer shared one of the combo exercises, saying, “Long jump burpees: Take a big two-foot jump forward, put your hands on the floor for a burpee. Turn around and go again!" Then the superstar would top that off with kneeling single-arm overhead presses, forearm planks, Get-ups, reverse crunches, single-leg bridges, and slow pilates roll-ups.

Clearly, hard work pays off! Lorde’s abs are radiant, just as all the tracks on her new album!
