During his It’s All A Blur tour stops in Montreal, Canada over the weekend (Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15), Drake welcomed North Carolina rapper J. Cole to the stage to take the place of his tourmate 21 Savage.

Although 21 Savage was unavailable to perform on either date during his joint It’s All A Blur tour stop with Drake in Montreal, most likely due to his ongoing immigration issues, Drizzy welcomed J. Cole to the stage to make amends. During Friday's set (July 14), the duo performed Cole's 2014 hit "No Role Modelz" together before he launched into a short solo set of his own "Wet Dreamz" and "Middle Child," as well as his collab with 21 Savage, "A Lot."

The following night featured more of the same, although with a slightly altered set list, as J. Cole once again took the stage to replace Savage. This time, however, Drake made sure to let Cole know that he was hoping to find his way into Cole's upcoming album project.

“Montreal, I want you to understand something,” Drake said as he introduced J. Cole to the arena. “It takes somebody that really not only loves the art of this s***, but really loves all of you to get on a plane, come here for two nights and represent for Montreal. So, make some muthaf***ing noise for my brother, all the way from the ‘Ville, he goes by the name of Jermaine Cole. I need you to get as loud as you can!”

In the middle of his Saturday (July 15) appearance, Drake bluntly asked Cole, “Can I get on the album? Imma ask in front of Montreal. ‘J. Cole, can we get on your album?'” Drake continued. Cole eventually responded saying: “Say less, goddammit!”
