Post Malone is so confident in his Magic: The Gathering skills, he’s teaming up with Whatnot to shell out a $100,000 cash reward to anybody who can beat him in a one-on-one match.
On August 4, the gaming enthusiast will randomly select a viewer via Whatnot livestream to participate in a Magic: The Gathering tournament. Open to everyone, the chosen player will then be flown out to L.A. for the tournament, which is set to take place on August 11.
“I absolutely love
Magic: The Gathering and I can’t wait to link up with Whatnot and battle it out with the winner,”
Malone said about the magical plans ahead.
For those not so familiar but still interested, you’ll be happy to learn that if the player chosen is not familiar with the game, Whatnot plans to enlist the help of gaming expert Reid Duke to train the player for the match against Posty.
And for those not particularly into participating, but are still interested in watching, viewers all over the world will be able to tune into the live play-by-play narrated by Josh and Jimmy of The Command Zone directly from the Whatnot app.
“We built Whatnot with the ethos of offering hands-down the best experiences for the most passionate enthusiasts, hobbyists, and collectors,” shared John Walters, Head of Special Projects at Whatnot. Excited about the particular partnership, he added, “Post Malone, both as an artist and as a person, fits perfectly into this growing and supportive community. As a multi-talented artist with skills that extend beyond music — and as an avid Magic: The Gathering player and formidable opponent — we’re looking forward to seeing him battle it out live with one of our dedicated fans.”

In other Posty news, looks like he’s next in line to get the documentary treatment. Taking his fans behind the scenes of his Runaway Tour.
Post Malone: Runaway will debut on Amazon Freevee on August 12. And according to the doc description, the film, follows the artist’s first arena tour, “weaves cinematic concert footage with intimate behind-the-scenes moments of Post Malone, his family, team and celebrity friends as they tour across the U.S. and Canada.”
