Mariah Carey might be best-known for two things: hitting the high note (on a long list of hits) and singing that certain Christmas song. The 50-year-old also maintains an entertaining presence on social media, and she gets a lot of material from those two claims to fame.
Mariah is constantly entertaining her fans with videos and pictures of her twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The "Fantasy" singer celebrates the holiday season online like there's no tomorrow, and she's also been known to take part in a viral challenge or two.
Let's take a look back at Mariah Carey's 6 best social media moments of the last 12 months.
1.Crashing Her Daughter's High Note Challenge
Mariah's daughter, Monroe, got off to an impressive start in the viral High Note Challenge. She had her mom's moves down and the voice to match, until she didn't. The camera eventually panned over to reveal it was the "Always Be My Baby" singer providing the vocals all along.
2.Waking Up to Her Biggest Season
Mariah's modern Christmas classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" manages to get bigger every year and she fully embraces it. Her 2019 holiday season officially got underway with a call from Santa on November 1st. It was captured in a fun video that began with her falling asleep in her Halloween wig and waking up in her Christmas pajamas.
3.Mastering the Bottle Cap Challenge
Carey also won the internet last spring when she put all other contestants in the Bottle Cap Challenge to shame. The goal of was to untwist the cap of a bottle with a well-placed kick, but Mariah accomplished the task using nothing but her legendary voice. At least that's how it looked.
4.Passing the Torch to Lil Nas X
There was no bigger pop star in 2019 than Little Nas X. He broke several records with "Old Town Road," including most weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Mariah was a good sport when she posted a photoshopped picture that appeared to show her passing the torch.
5.Becoming a Billboard Icon
Maria still has some bragging rights all her own, however, now that she's officially a Billboard Icon. She accepted the honor with heartfelt thanks to her fans: "They've lifted me out of the depths of hell and brought me back with their devotion and love."
6.Chilling to Prince on a Labor Day Boat Trip
Mariah spent the Labor Day weekend in a way that makes us jealous. She was just chilling on a boat with talented friends Maxwell and Trey Lorenz while eating food and providing backing vocals for Prince.
