Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Music Festival has been canceled for 2021, and this time it’s not COVID-19 related.

Just two days before Bonnaroo’s 2021 kick-off, and return after the pandemic’s torturous year of no music festivals, the Manchester event has had to announce cancellations due to inclement weather brought on by Hurricane Ida.

On the festival’s Twitter account, organizers tweeted, “We are absolutely heartbroken to announce that we must cancel Bonnaroo. While this weekend’s weather looks outstanding, currently Centeroo is waterlogged in many areas, the ground is incredibly saturated on our tollbooth paths, and the campgrounds are flooded to the point that... we are unable to drive in or park vehicles safely.”

In the Twitter thread, organizers share their disappointment, remind festival-goers that the event is still on for 2022, and share info about 2021 ticket refunds.

“All tickets purchased through Front Gate Tickets will be refunded in as little as 30 days to the original method of payment.”

The festival, slated to begin on September 2nd and run until September 5th featured headliners, Foo FightersMegan Thee StallionLizzoTame ImpalaTyler, The Creator, and Rufus Du Sol.
