Attendees, who planned on arriving at festival campsites beginning September 2 at Great Stage Park in Manchester, TN, were informed Sunday evening the opening of campgrounds would be pushed back one day, due to inclement weather in Tennessee caused by Hurricane Ida.

"Due to the approaching storm we will not be opening the campgrounds on Tuesday,” festival officials shared. “It is our intention to open the campgrounds on Wednesday morning pending an assessment of the grounds. At this time, Tuesday pass holders should plan on entering Wednesday. We are so excited to welcome you all to the farm but your safety is our first priority. Please have patience as we work through our plans and we will update as we know more."

While not an ideal situation, the live music was not scheduled to start until Thursday, so no performances are expected to be impacted by the storm at this time. The festival was expecting an approximate 80,000 campers to arrive across Tuesday and Wednesday.

"The Bonnaroo Weather Team is monitoring conditions in the Gulf of Mexico,” officials shared. “Currently all Bonnaroo activities remain as scheduled. Note: It COULD BE VERY WET as you arrive onsite... Please be prepared for rain, mud, and slower traffic conditions."

Bonnaroo was able to keep many of the original performers who populated the 2020 line-up in 2021 including Lizzo, who makes history as the first female to headline Bonnaroo.

All attendees are required to be either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a negative test no more than 72 hours prior. Fans who fail to show proof of vaccination or a negative test will have the option to purchase a rapid test on-site for $40. Any attendee who tests positive on-site will receive a refund and be asked to leave the festival grounds immediately.

Additionally, Bonnaroo is also requiring fans to wear masks in the small amount of indoor spaces at the mostly-outdoor festival. An abundance of sanitization stations will be available along with staff working hard to frequently clean popular areas and surfaces.
