Introducing the track, Flo Rida noted, “growing up in the 305, where there’s a couple different cultures, I just wanted to bring the Afrobeat/Reggae vibes. And what better way to have than the dancehall queen herself, Spice, and my brother Rotimi.”
“We shootin’ the video,” Flo Rida continued, sharing that, “it was phenomenal” and he “had a great time,” especially when it came to collaborating with them on the song. “We need great energy in the world right now,” Flo expressed, “so yeah, I’m very excited about this new record.”
Having grown up in Miami, Flo goes hard for his hometown sports teams. So when he had the chance to support the Panthers during the Stanley Cup Finals by performing “What A Night,” he “absolutely loved it.”
"Ah man I wish we could have brought home the trophy," Flo exclaimed, also admitting he “got a chance to touch it and everything.” Which superstitious Leroy actually gave him a hard time about.
The trio continued talking about sports some more, before discussing how many of Flo’s songs have been featured before games and what not. Revealing how that all comes about, Flo revealed, “the leagues actually reach out to myself.” Acknowledging how fortunate he’s been “that these records that I’ve put out have been anthems, and gets the fans excited… and even some of the players they use it… when they going up to bat, they use it. It always just overwhelms me with good love and good vibes.”
When it comes to his stage presence, and show vibes, Flo has one simple rule — “if you didn’t come to party, stay home.” On his side, he plans “to leave everything out on the playing field,” so he expects his audience to do the same.
The conversation continued flowing, with Flo sharing a place he’s traveled to where the crowds go crazy, other than the 305 of course. He also let us know that his new album is “coming real soon,” along with sharing a lengthy list of other business endeavors he has going on and planned. Before being asked to choose between Dame and Kyrie as potential Heat targets, the answer to which you’ll have to press play on the clip above to find out.
