Megan Thee Stallion stopped by to chat with Audacy’s very own Big Tigger to talk all about her seven BET award nominations, and what it means to her.

But obviously first things first, they had to talk about that Fashion Nova swim collection, which Meg said came about because, “I just really wanted the hot girls to have something to really turn up to this summer,” correcting herself saying, “turn up in. So we had to get ‘em sexy for Hot Girl Summer.”

As to be expected from the brand and the artist, Megan confirmed the size inclusivity of the line, noting,“It’s for the big girls, the petite girls, it’s for everybody, the tall girls, the short girls everybody get some.”

After that, the two moved right on over to discussing yet another one of Megan’s iconic accomplishments - being nominated for seven BET awards; including Album of the Year for Good News, Best Female Hip Hop Artist and Video of the Year, which of course are just only three. Oh, did we mention, she'll also be performing.

As for how she’s feeling about all it all, Megan’s go-getter and hustler mentality admittedly make it difficult for her to relish in her triumphs.

“I always feel like ‘okay girl, you need to keep working, you doing good, but lets beat what we did the last year. Lets beat what we did six months before that, and lets just keep making the hotties happy,' because that’s who I gotta do it for.”

Before Megan Thee Stallion was a household name, Megan Pete (that’s her real name) would watch the BET Awards knowing that one day she’d be there.

“I remember the first one that I could just remember, I was watching Ciara perform," Meg recalled, "and I was like 'damn, one day that is going to be me I can’t wait to get up there and show everybody what I got.'" Feeling truly inspired “to see a girl that looked like me,” she knew she could do it too, which by now she’s more than proven to be true.

Labeled as "cultures biggest night” and “the year of the Black women,” Tigger asked Meg what that meant to her.

Collecting her thoughts, Meg started off by saying, “first of all, Black women need to be celebrated every day. But to actually have a platform where we are celebrating Black women and dedicating a whole award show to Black women I think that is so epic.” Looking forwarding to being “in a room with so many of these women,” including her girl Taraji P. Henson, who will be hosting the evenings festivities, Megan is excited to be considered one of the many inspirational women that will be in attendance.

Other topics of discussion included, Megan’s surprised (I’ve been nominated or won) face - which we’ll most likely be seeing on Sunday during the award show. As well as the difference between Tina Snow and Megan Thee Stallion, and so much more, not but like really so much more. So do yourself a favor, press play and listen to the full interview above.

And don't forget, the 2021 BET Awards are set to take place on Sunday, June 27 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT and will air on BET.
