China is using anal swabs to test for COVID-19

We can stop complaining about the nasal exam now.

As scientists learn more about Coronavirus, there have been ongoing updates in symptoms, treatments, precautions, and testing. In China, where the initial cases of COVID-19 were discovered, doctors have started performing anal swabs to check for new strains.

According to VICE, Chinese authorities have started using this method in schools and hotels. People who have experienced the rectal swab say it's far worse than a quick swipe of the nostril. Let's hope this doesn't become the new standard.
