The monkeys were found missing from their enclosure on Monday, and after a preliminary investigation, the Dallas Police Department found the habitat had been “intentionally cut open,” and at this time, “it is believed the animals were intentionally taken from the enclosure.”

According to the Dallas Zoo, the monkeys would most likely “stay close to home<’ but after a thorough search near their habitat and across Zoo grounds they were not located.

Per CBS News, the police did not provide any details on who they believe may have taken the monkeys, but said their investigation is ongoing.
