Priscilla Presley is currently engaged in a legal battle with her granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, over the will of the late Lisa Marie Presley.

Lisa Marie created a trust for her now 14-year-old twins in 2010, naming her mother and her former business partner as trustees.  However, Lisa amended the trust in 2016, cutting Priscilla and Siegel out as trustees and placed her daughter Riley and son Benjamin in their place.

This is the crux of the matter, and the reason Priscilla has contested Lisa Marie’s will, which included a $35 million life insurance policy.

Yesterday, Priscilla explained that contesting her daughter’s will is just her attempt at keeping the family “together.”

She released a statement to Page Six that said, “Today would have been Lisa’s 55th birthday.  My wish is to protect my three grandchildren and keep our family together.

“From the first moment I held Lisa in my arms, I’ve protected, loved and guided her, as I have my son. Our hearts are broken, and I am having to learn to live without my only daughter.”

Priscilla claims that Lisa Marie’s signature on the 2016 amendment to her will appeared “inconsistent” and that her name had been spelled wrong.

As it stands currently, Riley Keough is set to inherit her mother’s estate.
