This past Friday, ZZ Top played their first show since the death of longtime bassist Dusty Hill.
Billy Gibbons didn't speak "at length" about Hill according to Rolling Stone, though he did acknowledge him throughout the show in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and also made reference to Hill's desire for the band to continue on without him.
The band did have an ongoing tribute to Hill, however, in the form of an empty microphone adorned with Hill's signature hat.
ZZ Top will be touring through May, 2022 with Hill's longtime guitar tech Elwood Francis filling in for him on bass.
