A California couple has spent the last 71 years together as husband and wife. And now they've done another thing together, beaten coronavirus.

Sam and Edith Gollay, of Huntington Beach, are 98 and 92, respectively.

They both were hospitalized with the novel virus, and they're both back home, doing OK.

"I was going through hell. They thought I wouldn't make it. I did make it and they checked me every 20 minutes and said I am all right. I had oxygen and a special diet and finally I got to go home and I didn't recognize anybody. I didn't know who anybody was...and I couldn't tell who was who....I quieted down and got back to normal," Sam said.

Sam tells KNX it was a tough fight. He says he was coughing like mad.

Edith says she knows it's beating the odds for two people in their 90s to both recover from coronavirus. But she tells KNX being married for 71 years is a bit of a miracle in itself.

Sam tells KNX he's doing much better and is exercising every day.
