ST. LOUIS (KMOX)-Those attending mass in the St. Louis Archdiocese are now required to a mask at all times, except when receiving communion.

Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski issued the mandate, which is for the entire archdiocese, it doesn't matter what your local health directives dictate.

In addition to attendees having to wear masks, altar servers and extraordinary ministers are to wear masks, while priests and deacons can take theirs off when celebrating mass from the altar or preaching, as long as they are at least six feet from the congregation.  They must wear a mask while distributing communion.

Cantors, readers and lectors can take off their masks when singing or reading, as long as social distancing is maintained.
