ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KMOX) - Missouri Highway Patrol Corporal Dallas Thompson tells KMOX, Senator Jamilah Nasheed was arrested in St. Charles County Thursday evening after troopers were tipped off to careless driver.
Thompson said troopers were in the area and saw Nasheed's car speeding and initiated a traffic stop. The trooper suspected the former senator was intoxicated following field sobriety tests, she was taken into custody and transported to the St. Charles County jail.
Thompson says Nasheed submitted to a breath test, was processed, and released on summonses. Thompson says that is the normal procedure for DWI arrests.
Nasheed currently serves on Missouri's parole board.
