A shooting in Wichita's Old Town over the weekend has resulted in the death of a 19-year-old Wichita woman. According to Wichita Police, Latianna Johnson was pronounced deceased Wednesday by medical personnel.

The shooting took place after 11 p.m. Saturday at 1st and Washington Street. Wichita Police say the Johnson broke up a fight between a friend of hers and a female suspect in a parking lot. After the altercation, Johnson was driving away from the scene when the suspect, 19-year-old La’Niha Banks of Wichita, fired shots, striking the victim twice in the upper body.

Police say another vehicle was struck by gunfire. That vehicle crashed into a pole nearby. The driver was not struck and was not injured.

Officers are still searching for Banks, who left the scene in a red 2014 Buick Lacrosse with a paper 60-day tag. Banks is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information, especially pictures or video, related to the shooting is asked to call 911.
