A man lost his life on Tuesday morning after his Tesla, traveling at high speeds, collided with nine vehicles in New Haven, Connecticut, police shared.

The New Haven Police Department shared that Christopher Andreozzi, 35, was behind the wheel of the Tesla when it hit seven vehicles parked and two that were moving on Nicoll Street in New Haven.

After the vehicle came to a stop, first responders were called, and Andreozzi was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries he sustained, police shared.

Two other drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to the local hospital for treatment.

The New Haven Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident. Witness testimony and video surveillance will play a role in the investigation, police shared.

Part of the investigation will include a mechanical inspection of the Tesla to see if it played any role in the erratic driving that cost Andreozzi his life.
