As Los Angeles schools open Tuesday with some half-million students and 30,000 teachers expected to sign-in from home, many are looking for support.
In preparation for the pending school year, LA Unified has set up a network to assist with questions about technology, textbooks, resources or other issues. A Family Help Desk is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at (213) 443-1300.

"A new school year brings excitement as the doors of opportunity open to students," Austin Beutner, LAUSD Superintendent writes on their "Back to School Handbook" website.
"The doors may not be open at school facilities as we start the year but the opportunity to learn must be there for all students. Our efforts, whether online or at school, are to make sure we provide students with a good education. The impact of COVID-19 requires us to take different approaches and put forth extraordinary efforts, we are committed to both."
L.A. Unified will run schools on the traditional, but shorter schedule with a 9:00 a.m. start time and 2:15 p.m. end.
