Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced Sunday night that he's taking executive action to temporarily close bars, nightclubs, restaurants, entertainment venues, gyms, and other establishments effective at midnight and running through the end of March. This comes after California Governor Gavin Newsom suggested earlier Sunday that all bars and wineries close in the state.
The mayor stressed that there is no food shortage, grocery stores will remain open, and restaurants will continue to be able to offer takeout and delivery services.

Mayor Garcetti also posted the image below, saying, "These are the emergency steps we are taking to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect people across L.A. These orders go into effect at midnight tonight. This isn’t easy and I don't make this decision lightly. We will do everything we can to help businesses and workers impacted during this time."
