Ryan Dorsey, the ex-husband of late actress Naya Rivera, has confirmed that Rivera’s sister has moved in to help raise the former couple's 5-year-old son, Josey.
In an Instagram video, Dorsey revealed that his son had asked if his aunt Nickayla (Titi), 26, could move in with them.
Dorsey captioned the video, “🗣Its not always black and white.”
“(Josey) asks me if Titi can live with us. ‘I want Titi to live with us forever,’ because she’s now the closest thing he has to a mom. You’re going to need all the help you can get as a single parent trying to build your career and navigate this disaster with your child,” he said in the clip. “To have a young woman who is his blood, his Titi, who is willing to put her life on hold and sacrifice things, uproot her situation for the betterment of your child.”
The actor shared that he told his son that his mother is in heaven now, and Josey replied: “Well, I want to go there. How do I get there?”
In the 12-minute video, Dorsey shared that he wouldn’t wish it upon anyone to have to hear those words “come out of the sweetest soul you know.”
Dorsey also addressed the “absurd” rumors that he is dating Josey’s aunt by saying it is a “false narrative.”
In July, Rivera was declared missing from Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, after her son was found alone on a rented boat.
After her body was recovered, her death was ruled an accidental drowning.
In early September, a medical examiner’s report indicated the “Glee” actress had alcohol and prescription drugs in her system when she drowned.
Rivera died at age 33.
