Congrats to Michaela Rademacher from Willow Canyon High School!
Willow

Fulton Homes and 94.5 KOOL-FM has asked our listeners to nominate a favorite music teacher. Each month we selected an especially deserving music teacher and the performance of their band/choir/orchestra will be heard on 94.5 KOOL-FM for the month! This month's winning music teacher is Michaela Rademacher from Willow Canyon High School!

Congratulations to this month's winner Michaela Rademacher and the Willow Canyon High School Wind Ensemble! Their band booster is receiving a check for $1,000 to further students' music education courtesy of Fulton Homes! Here's some info about Michaela Rademacher. She started teaching because of a love for music and performance and she wanted to share it with everyone around her. There is a lot of personal gratification when students understand a certain concept and perform the piece together. It makes everyone involved feel awesome!

The students have definitely impacted her life in a positive way. Her students are amazing people and are becoming better performers after every practice and rehearsal. She says she is inspired by a lot of things. She is a super family-oriented person and the band has become her family and they inspire her. She is inspired by watching all of her students grow and become better people. She is inspired by the music that they play and the emotions that they portray. She is inspired by the staff that she gets to work with at their amazing school. All of the performing Arts programs at Willow Canyon High School are expanding and growing and she is inspired by all of the possibilities that they can have.

She is inspired by the overwhelming support of the leaders that they have in the Dysart Unified School District that support the music programs from the Admin Team at Willow Canyon, Dr. Adam Schwartz, and Mr. Thom Luedemann, to the Director of Arts in Dysart Unified School District, Danae Marinelli and of course all the way to their wonderful Superintendent, Dr. Quin Kellis.

Some accomplishments that we have had in the band program are:
2020-2021 State Champions in both Convergence Winterguard and Convergence Percussion.

2018-2019 State Champions in Indoor Percussion for Convergence. Last year for marching band, they received the Black Hawk Regiment Outstanding Performance Award as well as the Michelle Thompson Legacy Award.

They also were able to perform for the National Quarterbacks Club this summer.
Theatre Band: just finished performing Guys and Dolls last year and Sister Act before that.

For wind Ensemble: received Two Superior Awards for Festivals in 2019 and are gearing toward doing it again this year.

Jazz Band: received a score of Excellent at the State Jazz Festival in 2019.

Michaela says "We have to have passion in whatever we do to bring fulfillment to our lives, and the band is my passion".
