Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is heading to the Pacific Northwest, as the pass rusher and the Seattle Seahawks agreed to a three-year deal with up to $42 million on the first official day of NFL free agency.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the deal includes $18 million in guarantees.
Lawrence had spent his entire career in Dallas after being selected with the 34th overall pick in the 2014 draft out of Boise State. He has the 10th most sacks in franchise history with 61.5 takedowns.
Lawrence, 33, missed most of the 2024 season after suffering a Lisfranc injury in the team's Week 4 win over the Giants.
Lawrence had three sacks and 14 tackles in those four outings, signifying that when on the field, he could still get it done.
And though Lawrence has gotten the stigma of being a perennially injured player, he did not miss a game in 2023 or 2024. And outside of 2016, 2021 and 2024, he has largely stayed on the field for the majority of each season.
