A quiet night was interrupted about 3:00 a.m. Monday by flames racing through a two-story apartment building on Normandale Street near I-30 and Loop 820 in far west Fort Worth.

The fire had a head start when Fort Worth fire crews first pulled into Normandale Manor. The found flames were already through the roof of a two-story building with 16 units.

Commanders quickly called a 2nd alarm and then a third to bring in more equipment and manpower.

Reports say everyone got out of the building okay. Officials say it is still to early to know what caused the fire.
