Fort Worth Police: Woman Found Dead In Burning Home Was Murdered

Investigators say a woman found dead yesterday inside a burning house in Fort Worth wasn't killed by the fire, she appears to be a homicide victim.

Firefighters arrived at the house on Halloran Street, near Bryant Irvin Road and 377 early yesterday morning. When they got inside the home they found the woman's body.

Police are launching an investigation into the case. Right now, they haven't released many details.

"Keep in mind, this is a very active investigation," says Officer Buddy Calzada. "I'm sure they have a person of interest that they're looking at. Some of that comes together a lot faster when we do have witnesses that will come forward and talk to us."

Police are asking anyone with information about what may have happened to come forward. The woman’s identity has not been released and no arrests have been made at this time.
