JOSHUA (1080 KRLD) - There's beefed-up security in the Joshua ISD today amid recent social media threats.

In a letter posted to the district's Twitter feed, Superintendent Fran Marek said while it's believed that the threats were posted by someone outside the district and possibly outside the State of Texas, the district is taking them very seriously.

Thus, all students at Joshua High School, New Horizon High School and the ninth grade campus are in a "secure hold" today, meaning they will not travel between campuses.

Joshua ISD Police, City of Joshua Police and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office are on all three campuses today.
