Green Day just wanna Rock N' Roll all night, and party e-v-e-r-y-day!
During the band's epic HELLA MEGA tour opening in Dallas over the weekend, they crushed through over two hours of music for fans that have been squirming to see live music again for more than a year. Part of the night's festivities included a KISS cover, and the Detroit rockers fully supported the move.
Following the concert, KISS singer and guitarist Paul Stanley tweeted a clip of Green Day's arena-shaking cover of their hit "Rock and Roll All Night" in Dallas saying simply, it was "another reason to love Green Day." Bassist and business manager Gene Simmons also shared a clip in support, although he misplaced the Texas city the band was in. Check out the full song uploaded by a fan, below.
It was an emotional night not just for the seething masses who have waited impatiently throughout the COVID-19 health crisis to see their favorite bands all under one roof, but for the artists on stage as well. Just minutes into their set, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong asked that the house lights be turned on. “Take a look around you,” he said to the vibrating crown. “This is human contact. We cannot be locked up anymore. We need to be together.”
