ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - Forget about what adults think. One tech company wants to know what your children think about how the internet helped them get through this past year.

"All of these conversations centered around adults. What adults were feeling and how adults wanted to solve the problems," explains Lynette Owens, Founder and Global Director for Trend Micro Internet Safety for Kids and Families program. "So we took a step back and said, 'Where are the kids? Why don't we involved their voice in the conversation about what's really going on on the internet and what possible solutions there might be?'"

For the last decade, Trend Micro has been asking kids to create short videos based on a new question each year.

"We've been quite impressed," Owens says. "Not only with the clarity of their position, on whatever the question is that we pose in a particular year, but also how skilled they are in using the tools to make these videos."

This year's question for the Trend Micro "What's Your Story?" contest is "How did the internet help you get through this past year?"
